FALL 2002
December 13, 2002 Novakowski Family Gives Holiday Donation to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Globe Santa
Each year in the beginning of
December, we sit down as a family to talk about giving to others. This year, our children, Jamie and Anna, once again chose Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to receive our family's gift.
Why? Jamie said it quite well, "Rather than having one person or family benefit, we want to contribute to a cause that will impact advancement in a field. This has the potential to benefit many."
We chose a second charity this year for the first time. My husband Bill chose Globe Santa because he wanted to help children that may not be able to celebrate this holiday without some help from others. He wants to forgo gifts for himself so that more children can benefit.

June 3, 2002 Andrea passes the Presidential Baton for ICF-NE
On Monday, Andrea completed her term as President of International Coaching Federation of
New England. It was a year of growth of the chapter, now the largest chartered chapter worldwide and for Andrea. Key learnings: a) surround yourself with good people -- the board that was her team was invaluable in setting the direction
and accomplishing our goals, b) build the depth of the organization -- good committee chairs developing their own committees increases the commitment of more members to participate and to meet the needs of the diverse membership, and c)
every idea doesn't have to be implemented ight now (a big one for me!). For more information about ICF-NE go to www.icfne.org
May 24, 2002 Memorial Day is this weekend.
It is the official start of summer; time for picnics, boating, and fun with family. However, this day is
also a day set aside to particularly remember those who have gone before us. Our military personnel come to mind as well as our own loved ones. Honor them this day by taking time out for a thought, a prayer, a ritual. Keep the real meaning
in this day while you celebrate the fact that life is short and you're living it to the fullest.
